Gus Lopez has over 34 years of experience in civil engineering planning, design, project management and construction management, with specific emphasis on transportation-related projects - highways, expressways, tollways, urban and rural roads, bridge layouts, etc. Prior to joining Dannenbaum, Gus performed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) responsibilities for transportation projects for the past 25 years, served 15 years with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as the Pharr District Design Engineer, and completed more than 53 roadway infrastructure design projects. He has a thorough understanding of the transportation industry, agency coordination, utility coordination, and State and Federal standards, guidelines and specifications for transportation projects. A few of Gus’ notable PS&E projects for which he served as Project Manager include US 77/83 Expressway in Cameron County; IH 69/SH 550 near the Port of Brownsville in Cameron County; SH 365 Near the Anzalduas International Bridge in McAllen; and FM 396 (Anzalduas Highway) in Hidalgo County. In addition, he also served as Project Manager for the development of over 75 miles of route analysis and schematics for the proposal Hidalgo Loop in Hidalgo County, Texas. Gus joined Dannenbaum in 2013 as a Vice President and Director of the South Texas Transportation Division.
